What is a global village? A global village is your surroundings that you are exposed to in life. You might not be exposed inside your family, but look around, maybe its a neighbor or a teacher. Even your friends or schools can make up your global village. UGANDA
In my neighborhood, one of my best friends adopted a 4 year old boy. He came from Uganda, a small country in Africa. People in Uganda have to sleep in beds that have nets above them so the bugs don't bite them. Some of his family members went on a mission trip there and had to pack a lot of drinks and food and other suppleis because a lot of the food and drinks there are not safe for visitors. Some of the people from Uganda make jewelry from newspapers and magazines and color dye to sell.
Almost every summer, I go to a big city. I have been to New York, San Francisco, Boston and Los Angeles. Something all of these cites have in common are neighborhoods where people from other countries live together. I have been to China town in New York and San Francisco. Once you step into the area, you feel like you have just been teleported into another country. You get to see other ways of life. Its cool to see another country without going to that country.
You might not think TV is part of a global village, but it is a part of mine. By watching the news, you can learn a lot of information about the world. TV is like your window to the world! You get to know what is happening around the world. I have learned about countries that dress different then we do, live different then we do, and do a lot of stuff that we don't do.
Those are the things that are in my global village and are my surroundings that I'm expose to in life. But to tell you the truth, I'm not that exposed inside my family. My global village is more my neighbors, teachers, friends and schools. Many things can make up your global village. What your global village
